Halloween Retail Finds - Jo-Ann Fabrics 8/6/2016

Went to Jo-Ann Fabrics this week looking for some material for a project and wow the Halloween was nice.  I spent all my time at the Halloween that I forgot all about why I was there. But hey no problem, just another excuse to go back.  But not like I need an excuse to go back to a craft store!

I loved the little Autumn/Halloween fairy garden type items. I mean after all my fairies can celebrate Halloween too, right!

Vintage kitchen towel must have!!  Well anything with black cats on it is a must, but when you add vintage style with black cats then guess what comes home with me immediately.

Over all really loved all their items, but like AC Moore nothing for baking or candy making yet.  Hopefully soon.. I have plans to make for I love to bake!!

Check out the gallery below for over 130 pictures from Jo-ann Fabrics!!

Spooky Retail Finds - Big Lots 7/30/16

Went to Big Lots this weekend and they were in the middle of putting out their Halloween.  Between my phone have problems and losing some pics and there was still stuff in boxes and I was not able to get a full grasp on everything they had. I did love their skeletons!  My favorite had to be the wolf skeleton that howled.  Its great and I plan on buying one soon.

Besides the wolf, there was a dog on a leash, a cat and buzzard.  We ended up taking a buzzard home with us. I have a prefect place for him this Halloween.  They also had this lamppost that I want.  I wish they had it out of the box so I can judge it more to see if it will fit with my outdoor decorating plans.  I probably will hit a different Big Lots this weekend hoping they will have one out for display.  And also hoping they have the rest of their stuff out!

Enjoyed the little surprise of Big Lots having some of their stuff out and looking forward to seeing the rest!

Spooky Retail Finds - AC Moore 7/26/16

Had to go into PA for an errand, so after everything was done I had to check out the local stores to see if there is anything different.  There was an AC Moore down the road and I am I went to go and check it out.  They had a lot of Halloween out!

There was some really great stuff for making wreaths. I really enjoyed this little crow, just look at his hat! After looking at all their picks and I have many ideas for a new wreath or two.

I never had the pleasure of having an AC Moore where I used to live so this has been a fun new adventure.  I feel I will be doing a home Halloween decor shopping there often.

Spooky Retail Finds - AC Moore 7/23/2016

I spent a very hot Saturday on the hunt for Halloween!  I was able to find 3 stores with Halloween stuff out!  One stop took me to A.C. Moore, a craft store very similar to Michaels.  I have never been to A.C. Moore before because they did not have them back in Texas were I used to live.  So it is a nice new place to discover for the first time.

They did not have all there Halloween out yet.  They were just getting started so I will be calling back next week and see when they will have it all up.  They had a nice supply of stuff to make your own wreaths, which is a plus for me, I love to make my own wreaths.  The had some blank styrofoam tombstones for $2.99 that would be fun to paint and decorate for the yard that I am planning on getting!

Spooky Retail Find - Cracker Barrel 7/15/2016

Went to Cracker Barrel last night for a little breakfast for dinner!!  Hash brown casserole ... yum! They had their Halloween out, more costumes than I have seen before. I  could not resist the little salt and pepper shakers.  I got me two green ones, one Frankenowl and one Witchy Owl.

So Let It Begin

Like the title says ... so let it begin!!  Halloween stuff is starting to show up in the stores!  I made a trip to Michaels on 7/10/2016  and there was lots of goodies on the shelves already. Lots of black and gold and a tad of glitter.  Some things I have seen before and lots of new things.  After all the Halloween season is the only time of year I can shop everyday for household decorations and accessories.

Here are a few of my favorite items:

Halloween Night Light

Found this little awesome night light today at the flea market.  It had a black cat and I can not resist a black cat.  I was able to nab this little beauty for $2.  The bonus is that the orange liquid bubbles!

Hallowe'En

The ghosts of all things past parade,
Emerging from the mist and shade
That hid them from our gaze,
And, full of song and ringing mirth,
In one glad moment of rebirth,
And again they walk the ways of earth
As in the ancient days.

The beacon light shines on the hill,
The will-o'-wisps the forests fill
With flashes filched from noon;
And witches on their broomsticks spry
Speed here and yonder in the sky,
And lift their strident voices high
Unto the Hunter's Moon.

The air resounds with tuneful notes
From myriads of straining throats,
All hailing Folly Queen;
So join the swelling choral throng,
Forget your sorrow and your wrong,
In one glad hour of joyous song
To honor Hallowe'en!

The Creeper Gallery

I just recently relocated to New Jersey due to Mr Halloween's new job and we couldn't wait to explore everything around us. We took a trip to Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA last October.  The towns are just separated by the Delaware River.  They are both amazing historical downtown's to visit and the old Victorian homes were just a bonus for me.

One place that we really enjoyed was in New Hope and it was called The Creeper Gallery. Since we visited around Halloween time it made the trip just a little bit more fun.  Here is a description of the shop from their web page:

D.L. Marian and Danielle Deveroux have partnered to create a completely unique
gallery experience in historic New Hope, Pennsylvania.
The Creeper Gallery houses Gothic fine art, curated various antiques and peculiars
by both owner-artists.
Our art-design aesthetic revolves around the Victorian era and anything dark,
strange or unusual.
Macabre life-size historical figures, mixed media assemblage, rogue taxidermy,
religiosity, medical, memento mori and more.

We got to talk to D.L. Marian who was working that day and Mr Halloween probably talked her to death!  While they talked I walked around the gallery taking pictures and taking everything in. There was even a little basket of toys for the ghost Madeline, an 8 year girl that perished there in a fire in the 1700s. I think it was one of my favorite stops we made on the trip.

My phone was in the process of dying and needing to be replaced so not some of pics didn't turn out the greatest.  Please enjoy the gallery below to check out The Creeper Gallery.
